UMOO is an online, interactive, competitive fantasy stock-trading arena which tests the knowledge and skill of individual participants in selecting and managing a portfolio of securities versus other individual participants’ own portfolio choices, each beginning with a fictitious $100,000 balance to invest.

UMOO is a game of skill and does not involve gambling, illegal or otherwise.

The point of the game is for each participant to maximize the value of his or her “virtual” or “fantasy” portfolio over a set period of time.

The participants who achieve the highest returns at the end of each game, as compared to other participants in each game, are the winners and are awarded cash prizes.

Each participant pays UMOO an entrance fee to join each stock market game.

The value of a given or “fantasy” portfolio at any moment in time is based on real-life market prices on United States stock exchanges of the securities identified in that participant’s “fantasy” portfolio.

Participants can and do actively manage their virtual portfolios, trading as often or as little as they choose throughout the duration of a given game, right up until its closing bell.

UMOO’s tournaments involve games where skill clearly predominates over any elements of chance.

Starting with the same sum of virtual money, participants must exercise their own individual knowledge, judgment and skill to determine which securities to buy for the “fantasy” portfolio, in what virtual amounts, how long to hold those securities, when to sell their chosen securities or purchase more, when to short stocks, etc.

Professional money managers are paid substantial fees each year to exercise these exact same skills in the exact same way on behalf of mutual fund and hedge fund investors.
